UNIBEN work mess: Ex-staff in N1.2m trick

The police in Benin, Edo State, have captured a retiree, Mr. Michael Oshodin, for purportedly tricking work searchers into the College of Benin (UNIBEN) N1.2 million.

The 59-year-old speculate who was a previous staff of Stores and Supply Division of College of Benin Showing Emergency clinic (UBTH), was marched at the Edo State Police Order on Friday for hoodwinking clueless work searchers.

He was asserted to have gathered tremendous entireties of cash from more than 25 people whom he vowed to help secure work at UNIBEN.

Talking with columnists at the Edo Police Direction central station in Benin, the suspect said he was shrunk by one Christy Ikeke Oni, a staff of UNIBEN, in the Division of Theater Craftsmanship, to enlist business searchers into the foundation.

He, in any case, said that the said Christy all of a sudden kicked the bucket two months prior after he had given her everything the cash he gathered from his unfortunate casualties.

Among those marched by the police were 12 hijack suspects, 36 furnished burglary suspects and 94 cultists.

It is with joy and gratitude to GOD that the RESTORATION Executives welcome you back on campus for the new academic session.

Quickly I will like to use this opportunity to react to some trending issues surrounding the institution. I must not fail to say that the Students Union is proud of the maturity and poise shown by you all amidst this issues. This has indeed come to prove that UNIBEN STUDENTS CAN NOT BE INTIMIDATED. UPDATE: UNIBEN School fees increment Saga

Great UNIBEN students, intellectuals, comrades and scholars. On behalf of the STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT, I salute you.



As you all return to campus for the new academic session, I wish you safe journey and God's protect and guidance.

On this day, I want to reinstate that the students Union government is still committed to represent your interest.

Firstly, I want to clear the air on the rumoured school fees increment. The school fees remains the same and the Students Union government will resist any increment for the sake of our brothers and sisters if any.

Secondly, I want to inform the general public that there would be temporary accommodation for returning students. Girls will stay in hall 2 while boys will stay in hall 3 for proper supervision(for 21 days) not excluding Ekenhuan campus.

Due to the commitment of the students Union government to serve UNIBEN students better, this year's Hostel application would be done based on faculty(manually) structure after payment of school fees and hostel charges. This process would be supervised by the parliament and Executive council for better allocation.

Hostels would be opened on Sunday for returning students and application will begin on Monday.

NOTE:
Allocation of hostel will be based on FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis.

Disregard any information on postponement of resumption date. Resumption date remains 12th November.
