Following the success of #SpellGlamour_AAUA there has been some speculations on the delay in effecting the contract of the ‘from-the-rare’ winner. This seeming delay in her official benefits and showcasing is due to the recent rebranding of the Company responsible for the event, from Glamour Events and Publicity to Glamour Train, a process which had to be completed before any other activity.

To this end, the 300L Lawyer, who won the very first ever AAUA Spelling Competition in May, will begin to make official appearances for Spell Glamour. She’s also poised for several major showcasing: ’HOWGA’ which is on December 16^th, 2017; and apart from being a beneficiary, she will be playing a major role at our ‘Academic Mentorship’ event, et al.

However, all is set for the “Best Speller in AAUA” Oreoluwa Opeyemi, to ride on her exquisite train of victory; also, all the benefits stipulated in her contract are very much in line. Hence, the trumpets would now blow, to inform everyone of how rewarding, Educational Contests could be.

It is with joy and gratitude to GOD that the RESTORATION Executives welcome you back on campus for the new academic session.

Quickly I will like to use this opportunity to react to some trending issues surrounding the institution. I must not fail to say that the Students Union is proud of the maturity and poise shown by you all amidst this issues. This has indeed come to prove that UNIBEN STUDENTS CAN NOT BE INTIMIDATED. I strongly urge UNIBEN STUDENTS to remain calm and happy because victory is certain (VICTORIA ASCERTA)!

I will like to reiterate the fact that "WE WILL RESIST ANY INCREMENT IF ANY".

UPDATE: UNIBEN School fees increment Saga

Great UNIBEN students, intellectuals, comrades and scholars. On behalf of the STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT, I salute you.



As you all return to campus for the new academic session, I wish you safe journey and God's protect and guidance.

On this day, I want to reinstate that the students Union government is still committed to represent your interest.

Firstly, I want to clear the air on the rumoured school fees increment. The school fees remains the same and the Students Union government will resist any increment for the sake of our brothers and sisters if any.

Secondly, I want to inform the general public that there would be temporary accommodation for returning students. Girls will stay in hall 2 while boys will stay in hall 3 for proper supervision(for 21 days) not excluding Ekenhuan campus.

Due to the commitment of the students Union government to serve UNIBEN students better, this year's Hostel application would be done based on faculty(manually) structure after payment of school fees and hostel charges. This process would be supervised by the parliament and Executive council for better allocation.

Hostels would be opened on Sunday for returning students and application will begin on Monday.

NOTE:
Allocation of hostel will be based on FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis.

Disregard any information on postponement of resumption date. Resumption date remains 12th November.

Important notice from the Students Union Government to all UNIBEN students

After a long meeting today with the University of Benin management that
ended in deadlock, the Students Union government have expressed its displeasure for not being carried along on vital issues as regards the Students welfare. Issues like increment of Hostel charges, work study, school fees.

The Students Union government hereby pass this resolution which profess:

1)No increment of hostel charges
2)Work study students must be paid before convocation
3)Transfer fee be returned to status quo
4)shuttle within and outside the University be addressed
5)Payment portal be shut until after deliberation between management and the Students Union government.

Students that violated the advice from the Students Union government and went ahead to pay the school fees as at today without waiting for any update from the students Union government are at their own risk.

In conclusion, students are advised not to pay any fee until the Students Union government are done with its deliberation with the University management.

-The Post Utme pass mark for consideration into the University of Benin is 50 marks.
-Any candidate who scored  below this mark in the Post Utme test will not be considered for admission.

Benin students that the students Union government has not approve the increment of shuttle fares and Cab charges.

To this end, the Students Union government will resist any increment with everything in our arsenal.
